Any games, systems, or anything retro-related that I don’t need can be used to purchase something I DO need to complete a collection, so feel free to send anything extra regardless of whether it’s on the list.

Send an email to owencartermorgan@gmail.com to let me know if something from this list should be removed. If I end up with duplicates, I can simply sell them and get new pieces. However, as I receive items, I will remove them from the list. The list will be kept to date.

Additionally, the listings linked on this website might need to be updated. There might even be cheaper listings. I put them down so people would know what item to look for. Again, if I get something that I already own or doesn’t fit the collection well, I can trade it for an item of similar value that I’ve been looking for.

Thanks,

$25? alpha saphire – Nintendo DS these are sometimes faked. buying from ebay is usually trustworthy. amazon brings in a lot of questionable sellers. great return policy but most people have no clue they just bought somethink fake

$35 pokemon pearl – (Nintendo DS) the best way to tell if a game is fake or not is to physically look at it and see if it has normal wear and tear you’d expect from 20 years of floating around in circulation. if it’s exceptionally clean, you’d have to verify it another way. But we’ll cross that bridge if we come to it.

$350? 3DS built in capture card
Many people sell 3DS consoles with capture cards already installed. A man who goes by Loopy designed the definitive physical capture card named the Katsukity. Nintendo shut him down, but he redesigned it and started producing again. The old design works just as well as the old design. The old design uses micro USB to transfer data to a computer. the new design uses USB C and also charges the system while plugged in.

Loopy has a number of other unnecessary mods, such as a controller mod. He also provides the built in sound mod with the USB C card. With the old design, audio transfers through the audio jack instead. Again, I’m not partial. both designs are fantastic. Here’s an example of a Loopy product for sale on eBay. Delfino Customs takes many months to do the work and sometimes runs out of capture cards, but if you can get them to do it for you, they do a great job. To save yourself time and headache, you might considering having him source the 3DS. there’s a very specific type required for capture card installation and I’m not sure I have it.

$65 – $100 (one or two) raspberry pi mini computers. latest is the 5 – id be ok with 3B+ or higher. I linked a little kit that includes the power supply and everything. I don’t have any more power supplies for the ones I used to have so i’m shooting for a whole creation kit with the case and all

$100? (REPAIR REQUEST – ALREADY OWNED) Atari Lynx once functioned but won’t turn on now. I have the box for it so I don’t want to let it go. I can’t imagine it’ll be that expensive. there’s a retro game repair shop near times square

$100+? $35 an $150 Heart Gold and Soul Silver – Nintendo DS
Price it varies wildly between quality and sellers. If the game runs and it’s real, i will like it. In the collecting community, things arent expected to be perfect.
probably the rarest on the list – i already have the Pokewalker accessory

$160 Gameboy Micro
The Gameboy micro is the last nintendo handheld i meed before i have the complete collection to date. It’s a special release of a gameboy advance that had a backlight and removable faceplates. people liked trading out faceplates for silver or white or NES colors. ive never seen one before but that was next on my list before i slowed down on buying things a while back

$100? (REPAIR REQUEST – ALREADY OWNED) special edition pokemon 2ds – broken bottom screen
I’d love to have this functioning system. it turns on. unfortunately, the bottom screen is just white. it needs to be replaced.

$140? id also like a 32x addion for the genesis

$200? and a disc player for the genesis would be cool too. here’s a genesis/disc player combo for $250

$35 – xbox 360 console
already have peripherals and games. all that’s needed is the physical system. mine is giving me the red circle right now

$50 – wii u console
I dont have any peripherals for this, like cords or controllers, but they made mario maker 1 and breath of the wild for this system. id love to have some number of other games for it too. maybe zelda games or something

$115 – ps3 console
i dont have any peripherals for it. like controllers, plugs, games, etc

$150 – Sega Dreamcast console

$120? AGS-101 model Gameboy Advance
This gameboy advance model is extremely desirable because instead of a front light, it has a back light like an iphone. It plays gameboy color and original games as well as normal GBA games, so it’s the definitive way to play it — but it was a model 2 of the system and they produced and sold fewer of this model than they did others.

$100? sega genesis – REPAIR REQUEST seems to be broken? probably fixable at the store in times square. it just doesnt turn on anymore. it used to. most likely capacitor replacement. pretty straightforward.

$35 – $100 DS and/or 3DS everdrive or Game Boy Advance everdrive. The 3DS everdrive might not exist yet. The everdrive is a game cartridge which can be inserted into the console, but has an SD card on top where games can be inserted from orthe computer. plug the SD card into the cartridge, and then plug the cartridge int othe system. Any game is playable on original hardware with everdrives, but they can get expensive and they have to be tailor made to specific systems. I’ve tested it and I know that the DS everdrive works on a 3DS.
